Within the confines of the game, Martha transforms into an avatar known as Ruby Roundhouse (whom she had been previously). Eddie and Milo change their identities to Dr. Smolder Bravestone and Franklin “Mouse” Finbar, respectively, while Fridge transforms into Professor Sheldon Oberon, who was formerly known as Bethany (who had been Spencer and Fridge respectively).

Eddie and Milo have just finished briefing them on the rules of Jumanji when they are approached by a non-player character known as Nigel Billingsley, the game’s guide. Nigel informs them that Jumanji is in the midst of a severe drought. In order for them to win the game, they need to end the drought and retrieve a magical necklace known as the Falcon Heart.

This necklace was taken by Jurgen the Brutal, who is Bravestone’s rival and a warlord. After being transported to a desert in order to pursue Jurgen and having a narrow escape from a herd of ostriches, the team comes across Spencer, who is now playing as a new avatar known as Ming Fleetfoot, a skilled female thief. Spencer comes over to them and expresses his regret for getting them into this predicament.
