Always is a 1989 romantic fantasy drama film that was produced in the United States and directed by Steven Spielberg. The film stars Richard Dreyfuss, Holly Hunter, John Goodman, Brad Johnson, and Audrey Hepburn in her last film performance.

Always is a remake of the love drama A Guy Named Joe, which was originally released in 1943 and took place during World War II. The most significant change made from the original film made in 1943 is the transition from a wartime scene to a more contemporary aerial firefighting operation.

The film, on the other hand, adheres to the same fundamental plot line: the spirit of an experienced pilot who passed away lately guides and instructs a more inexperienced pilot, all the while seeing the latter fall in love with the woman he had left behind.

The names of four main characters from the earlier movie are all kept the same in the new version, with the exception of the character Ted Randall, who is given the name Ted Baker in the new version, and Pete, whose surname is changed to Sandich rather than Sandidge.
