The fictitious world of Halloween Town is inhabited by a wide variety of creatures and beings in some way connected to the event. The inhabitants look up to Jack Skellington, who is known as the “Pumpkin King,” and follows his lead when it comes to planning the yearly Halloween celebrations. On the other hand, Jack is sick of his same yearly pattern and is looking forward to doing something different this time around. The following morning, as he was wandering through the woods, he came across six trees that contained doors that led to other holiday-themed worlds, and he happened to stumble into the door that led to Christmas Town.
Jack, taken aback by the foreign holiday, travels back to his hometown to share his discoveries with his friends and neighbours. However, since they are unaware of the concept of Christmas, they evaluate everything based on their conceptions of Halloween. Nevertheless, they have a connection to one of the citizens of Christmas Town, the town’s king, Santa Claus, or “Sandy Claws,” as Jack wrongly refers to him. Jack withdraws to his home in order to conduct additional research on Christmas and come up with a logical justification for the holiday. After his research and experiments prove fruitless, Jack comes to the conclusion that Christmas is something that should be enhanced rather than comprehended. He then makes the announcement that Halloween Town will celebrate Christmas in its place this year.
