The American series All Hail King Julien is a computer-animated three-dimensional streaming series. Because it takes place in Madagascar before the first film’s events and stars King Julien, Maurice, and Mort from the Madagascar franchise of animated films produced by DreamWorks Animation, it is considered a prequel to the Madagascar film series. The Madagascar series has inspired DreamWorks Animation to create a second program based on the property.

The first five episodes of the series, each clocking in at 22 minutes, were made available on Netflix on December 19, 2014, marking the premiere of the series. The second season was made available to the public on October 16, 2015.
