Chen Nian becomes the next target of the “queen bee” and ruthless school bully Wei Lai and her cronies when her fellow student, Hu Xiaodie, takes her own life due to being bullied at school. Hu’s death was attributed to being bullied at school. In addition, Chen Nian witnesses a young thug by the name of Liu Beishan, also known as “Xiao Bei,” being assaulted in the streets by other thugs. She tries to phone the police, but the thugs see what she is doing and assault her.

The assailants make fun of her for attempting to help Xiao Bei and beat them until they ultimately force Chen Nian to kiss Xiao Bei to embarrass them both. The kiss is a public humiliation for the two of them. In the meantime, Chen Nian’s tormentors at school are becoming more vicious by the day. They have begun physically assaulting Chen Nian and spreading accusations about her family. Following an incident in which Chen Nian attempted to stand up to the bullies, she was violently shoved down the stairs in front of a large number of other pupils at the school.
