Ama Qamata, Khosi Ngema, and Gail Mabalane feature in the Netflix original series Blood & Water, a South African juvenile criminal thriller television series made by Gambit Films.

The plot of the series, which takes place in Cape Town, focuses on a young woman who enrols at a prestigious private school after becoming convinced that one of her new classmates may actually be her kidnapped younger sister.

The first season of show, which consists of six episodes, was made available on Netflix on May 20th, 2020. Netflix announced its intention to produce a second season of the show in June 2020, and the new episodes began streaming on September 24, 2021.

The series was recognised as the best television drama at the South African Film and Television Accolades in 2021, in addition to receiving awards for cinematography and sound design.
