Jack and Alice Chambers, portrayed by Harry Styles and Florence Pugh, respectively, are a young and contented couple who live in the corporate town of Victory during the 1950s. Jack is employed by the local industry, while Alice is employed by Jack as his secretary. Jack is hired by an unnamed firm, and it is this company that is responsible for the development of the town as well as the payment for it.
The town is thrown into turmoil as a direct result of Alice’s investigation into the enigmatic Victory Project, which, in turn, causes fissures to appear in the ideal life that she and her husband have created for themselves. Alice’s insatiable curiosity regarding the nature of her husband’s work on the top-secret Victory Project starts to take over to the point that it threatens to devour her.
