Hiccup and Snotlout compete against one another and hone their skills in the pursuit of sheep in preparation for the annual Dragon Race, which is the new and official dragon sport event on Berk. After that, Astrid, Hiccup, and Toothless are taken aback by the eerie appearance of the new face paint that Tuffnut has just completed applying. Tuffnut makes fun of the new design that Fishlegs has applied, saying that at least his doesn’t appear like a target. Fishlegs responds by explaining that the pattern actually represents the Ingerman family crest.

When Snotlout eventually showed there, he was ecstatic since his brand new Sheep Launcher had been working properly all along. However, Astrid informed him that it took him thirty-two attempts to get it right. The scene then switches to a series of sheep being launched, giving the impression that the sheep, which is protected from injury by a helmet that Snotlout has placed on it, is able to land on a variety of surfaces without experiencing any discomfort. Snotlout comes to the conclusion that the sheep launcher is in working order and is prepared for the Dragon Race.

Astrid complains and asks Snotlout when he had the right to make a decision like that; Snotlout responds by saying that it is because he was the one who created the sport. Hiccup and Astrid are quick to refute the story, stating that they do not remember it occurring in that manner. Astrid is racking her brain to recollect the circumstances surrounding the birth of Dragon Racing and the identity of its creator.
