The James Siegel novel of same name, which was adapted into the crime thriller film Derailed, which was published in 2005, was the source of inspiration for the film.

A number of well-known performers, including Clive Owen, Jennifer Aniston, Vincent Cassel, Giancarlo Esposito, David Morrissey, RZA, and Xzibit, are featured in the film, which was directed by Mikael Hfstrom.
