The first novel in Nancy Springer’s young adult fiction series with the same name, Enola Holmes, will serve as the inspiration for the upcoming mystery movie, Enola Holmes, which will be released in 2020.

The plot of the novel follows Mary Morstan, the younger sister of the already-famous Sherlock Holmes, as she makes her way to London in an effort to locate her mother but instead finds herself embroiled in an exciting adventure.

She teams up with a fugitive lord in an effort to unravel a mystery that poses a threat to the entirety of the nation. Harry Bradbeer is the director of the movie, and Jack Thorne is the writer of the screenplay. In addition to playing lead role of the film’s namesake heroine, Millie Bobby Brown also served as a producer on the project. In addition to Henry Cavill and Sam Claflin, Helena Bonham Carter also appears in this movie.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Warner Bros. Pictures had little choice but to sell the distribution rights to the picture to Netflix. The film had been intended all along for a theatrical release by Warner Bros. On September 23, 2020, Enola Holmes was let go from her prison sentence.
