In the year 1999, in El Paso, Texas, a chapel is the location where a woman wearing a wedding dress and known only as the Bride lies injured. Just before he shoots her in the head, she reveals to her off-screen assailant, Bill, that she is expecting his child. Bill then proceeds to kill her.

After surviving the assault four years later, the Bride makes her way to the residence of Vernita Green, also known as Copperhead, with the intention of killing her. Vernita now lives a regular life with her family in the suburbs, but both of these ladies used to be members of the gang known as the Deadly Vipers, which no longer exists. They are in the middle of a knife battle when Vernita’s daughter Nikki, who is quite young, comes home from school and interrupts them. The Bride makes a deal with Vernita to settle the situation by meeting her at night, but when Vernita tries to shoot the Bride with a gun concealed in a box of cereal, the Bride kills Vernita by stabbing her in the chest with a knife. Nikki is present throughout the murder, and the Bride tells her that she will have the opportunity to exact revenge on her mother’s killer when she is older, provided that she makes the decision to do so.

The police examine the massacre that took place at the wedding chapel four years earlier. The sheriff makes the shocking discovery that the Bride is still conscious despite her vegetative state. In the hospital, Deadly Viper Elle Driver makes preparations to kill the Bride by injecting a poison into her veins; however, at the very last second, Bill changes his mind and decides that it would be dishonourable to kill the helpless Bride.
