13 Movies Like Lilya 4-Ever

A figure can be seen at the beginning of the clip rushing towards a highway bridge. When the figure in the film turns around, the audience is introduced to Lilya Michailova, a young woman who has just recently recovered from being severely battered. After that, the movie delves into her history.

A former Soviet Union republic that shall remain nameless is the location of Lilya and her mother’s flat in a dilapidated apartment building. Although Lilya’s mother tells her daughter that they are going to go to the United States with the mother’s new boyfriend, the mother actually leaves Lilya in the care of Lilya’s aunt while she and the boyfriend relocate to the United States. While the aunt relocated into the larger and nicer apartment that Lilya and her mother had previously occupied, the aunt forced Lilya to move into a more cramped and unclean apartment.
