She-Ra and Princesses of Power is a reboot of the 1985 Filmation series She-Ra: Princess of Power, which tells the story of Adora, a young girl who has the ability to transform into the heroic figure She-Ra and who leads a group of other magical princesses in a rebellion against the nefarious Lord Hordak and his Horde.

Adora’s story is told in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Its telling of how Adora discovers her identity deviates from its original He-Man and She-Ra: Secret of Sword predecessor and source material.

In that version, the Sorceress of Grayskull sent Adam/He-Man to find his twin sister, Adora, which resulted in Adora discovering her She-Ra identity.
