As a former undercover agent, Bryan Mills tries to reestablish a stable connection with his daughter Kim. Besides trying to aid his ex-wife Lenore, he also tries to persuade her to stay married to Stuart, her husband. As soon as she is done, she texts back and tells him they must meet. Upon arriving at his residence, he is shocked to find Lenore dead. The police arrived and were ready to arrest him, but he evaded capture.

Despite not fully believing Mills is guilty, an inspector who investigates decides to go by the rules, search for him, and bring him to justice, despite not being convinced. While Kim doesn’t believe he killed her mother, Stuart doesn’t precisely deny that he was responsible. As Bryan discovers proof, he ensures the inspector receives it. To keep an eye on Kim, the inspector has decided. In need of assistance, Mills looks to his close pals’ aid. He ultimately discovers that Stuart may be concealing something.
