Tom accepts a job in Ohio working at an advertising agency where his father-in-law holds the position of assistant director after he is fired from his previous job for protecting his friend Paco. Assigned to report to Chip, who is a demanding and hard-working paraplegic and was Sofia’s ex-boyfriend while they were in high school. Chip is the supervisor of this assignment. Chip is still fixated on her, so he hatches a plot to make Tom’s life at the office as difficult as possible. As Tom’s anger increases, it appears that he is winning Sofia over his point of view.

Tom starts to get the sneaking suspicion that Chip isn’t handicapped in any way, so he searches through Chip’s desk. After discovering a picture of himself playing tennis, he made a beeline for the home of his in-laws in order to see his wife and show her the image. When he arrives, Chip is holding his child while eating supper with Sofia, her parents, and Chip’s own parents.
