An adventure thriller set in the ancient African woods follows a guy as he attempts to bring modern transportation to the region. The proprietor of a British railroad company, John Beaumont (Tom Wilkinson), is developing a train route through Uganda. Engineer John Henry Patterson (Val Kilmer) is dispatched to Africa to oversee the construction of a bridge that will allow the lines to span a big river. In spite of Beaumont’s severe deadline, Patterson is certain that the local laborers will be able to finish on time with his help. However, Patterson is obliged to deal with the animal after three workers were murdered in an assault by a lion.

While he bags a lion that invades the construction site one evening, it quickly becomes apparent that there is more than one predator in the adjacent forest… Even after losing more than one hundred and thirty of their own men due to the lions’ relentless attacks, the survivors Patterson and Beaumont agree to enlist the help of Charles Remmington (Michael Douglas), an experienced hunter who is familiar with the predators’ habits and how to lure them into his traps.
