16 Movies Like The Oranges (2011)

The narrative is told from the point of view of an ambitious furniture designer named Vanessa Walling, whose original aim was to remain at home for a few months following graduation from college. However, those months have grown into years. As her parents’ marriage disintegrates, she bears witness to the anguish that ensues between them. In their suburban neighbourhood in West Orange, New Jersey, their closest companions, Terry and Cathy Ostroff, reside just across the street from them.

Nina Ostroff, age 24, has been a wayward daughter for her parents, and when she returns home after a failed engagement, Vanessa Ostroff is not glad to see her again. Nina has a stronger interest in Vanessa’s father David than she does in the Wallings’ world-traveling son Toby, despite the fact that the mothers of both sets of parents hope she will develop a romantic connection with Toby. After following Nina to a motel and noticing David there, Cathy comes to the realisation that her husband is having an affair. The disintegration of both families thus gets under way.
