The ten R-36M2 Mod. 5 550–750 kiloton MIRV nuclear warheads that belonged to an SS-18 Satan ICBM are placed onto a train at a missile base in Kartaly, which is located in the Chelyabinsk Oblast of Russia. The train will then transport the warheads to a disassembly facility. On the other hand, Russian Army General Aleksandr Kodoroff, along with a rogue Spetznaz unit, eliminates the soldiers who were on board the cargo train and moves nine of the nukes to another train. The timer on the last remaining warhead is then activated by Kodoroff, and he directs the transport vehicle toward a collision path with a passenger train. After a few minutes, the 500-kiloton warhead goes off, which results in the deaths of thousands of civilians and slows down the investigation into the tragedy.
