The Wedding Date is a romantic comedy film that was released in 2005 in the United States of America. Directed by Clare Kilner, the film stars Debra Messing, Dermot Mulroney, and Amy Adams.

The story of the film is based on Elizabeth Young’s novel Asking for Trouble, which was published in 2002. It tells the story of a single lady who employs a male escort to appear as her lover during her sister’s wedding in order to trick her former fiance, who broke up with her a few years before.

Despite earning poor reviews from film critics, the movie was a financial success, grossing $47 million worldwide against a budget of $15 million at box offices throughout the world.

A New Yorker named Kat Ellis, who is currently unattached, travels to her parents’ home in London so that she can serve as the maid of honour for her younger half-sister Amy’s wedding.

Her ex-fiancé is the best man, despite the fact that he broke off their engagement two years ago for no apparent reason. Because she is afraid of approaching him and wants to make a good impression on him, she decides to hire the dashing escort Nick Mercer to act as her boyfriend.
