Amanda, a student at an elite high school in a Connecticut suburb, played by Olivia Cooke, is arrested for animal cruelty after using a knife to end the suffering of her crippled horse. After some time has passed, Amanda shows up at her house Lily, who is more well-liked and has a greater interest in academics (Anya Taylor-Joy). After Lily’s father passed away, the girls, who had once been the best of friends, drifted further apart.
