Victoria is a woman from Spain who recently relocated to Berlin and has been residing there for the past three months. She makes a meager living working in a cafe, and she does not have any friends or family in the city. In addition to this, she does not have a strong command of German, and the only language that she and the people around her communicate in is English.

After a night of dancing and drinking, she is leaving a club at around four in the morning when she runs across four young males who were turned away from the club. They are referred to as “Sonne” (which means “sun”), “Boxer,” “Blinker” (which means “turn signal”), and “Fuß” (foot). The gentlemen ask her if she would like to go for a stroll across the city, and she accepts their invitation. After taking some booze from a 24-hour store, they all meet up on the roof of an apartment building, where they consume alcohol and marijuana together while Boxer spills the beans about his time spent behind bars for inflicting physical harm on a third party.
