Jakob Kanon, a detective in New York, opens an investigation into the death of his daughter, who was killed while on her honeymoon; he enlists the assistance of Dessie Lombard, an American journalist working in Sweden, when other couples all throughout Europe meet the same fate.

The first sequence of the film depicts the murder of a young couple. It turns out that Jacob Kanon’s daughter and her husband, who are on their honeymoon in London, are who we thought they were. He travels to London in order to identify the bodies of his daughter and her new husband who were found in a morgue there.
